Our Report: Apple first revealed plans to roll out its new Apple Intelligence features, at its WWDC in June, and ahead of the public launch of the first set of AI features, next week, as part of the iOS 18.1 update, (which includes AI-powered writing tools, image cleanup, article summaries, and a redesigned Siri), it’s released the second set, in beta, as part of the iOS 18.2 update, which will include the long-awaited, highly-anticipated, integration with ChatGPT.
🔑 Key Points:
In the new update, Siri will detect if it can’t answer a complex question or complete a difficult task—like planning a trip or finding a recipe—and divert it to ChatGPT (after asking for permission).
ChatGPT will also power Apple’s answer to Google Lens—called Visual Intelligence—using the device's camera to identify, translate, and deliver real-time contextual information about text, images, objects, and signs.
Alongside the ChatGPT integration, Apple is also releasing Genmoji, its emoji generator, Image Playground, its AI image generator, and a feature that allows users to delete objects from photos, called Image Wand.
🤔 Why you should care: Investors are hoping that the first public release of Apple’s AI features next week, and the release of the second wave, in beta, will trigger an upsurge in iPhone device sales and upgrades (as the AI features are just available on newer devices) and already, Apple shares are up by 35% over the last 12 months, and 19% since Apple Intelligence was announced in June.

You’ve likely received a sketchy phonecall, text, or email asking for $$$. It might've been easy to spot, but with deepfakes and AI, scams are getting trickier.
Scammers use your personal data, often bought legally from data brokers who sell your mobile number, DOB, SSN, and more.
Incogni scrubs your data from the web, taking on 175+ data brokers on your behalf.
Unlike others, Incogni deletes your info from all broker types, including people search sites where anyone can get your details for just a few bucks.

Our Report: Google is making its text watermarking tool—SynthID Text—which adds an invisible watermark to text generated by AI, open-source and available to everyone.
🔑 Key Points:
Access to SynthID Text will allow any AI developer to add watermarking to their content to “help them identify it as AI-generated content,” making it easier for more developers to build AI responsibly.
The tool doesn’t affect the quality, accuracy, creativity, or speed of generated text—which is a limitation of many watermarking tools—and works on text that’s been cropped, paraphrased, or modified.
However, Google has admitted that it does struggle to add watermarks to short text (less than three sentences) answers to factual questions, like “What is the capital of France?”, or text that’s been rewritten or translated.
🤔 Why you should care: Although Google admits that SynthID Text isn’t a “silver bullet for identifying AI-generated content,” it is a significant “building block for developing more reliable AI identification tools” that will help people “make informed decisions about how they interact with AI-generated content,” as reportedly, 90% of online content could be generated by AI by 2026, which is concerning as AI is being increasingly used to spread misinformation and for other malicious purposes.

NVIDIA has formed partnerships with multiple Indian tech firms—most notably Yotta Data Services, L&T Technology Services, and Zoho—to secure a foothold in India's rapidly growing AI sector.
CEO—Jensen Huang—also announced it had partnered with India’s most valuable company—Reliance—to use NVIDIAs AI chips and software to build infrastructure for AI applications within India.
Huang declared that “India used to be a country that exported software. But in the future, India will be a country that exports AI,” which follows NVIDIA’s recent initiative which saw it train over 100,000 Indian AI developers.
Miles Brundage—policy researcher and senior adviser to the company’s AGI team—who joined OpenAI in 2018, has quit the company to pursue a career as an AI researcher and advocate in the nonprofit sector.
Although a “hard decision,” Brundage believes OpenAI “needs employees who are committed to sustaining a culture of rigorous decision-making about development and deployment” (which clearly isn’t him).
Following his exit, the AGI team will disband, and the economic research team—a subset of the AGI team—will sit under OpenAI’s newest hire, former White House economist, Dr. Ronnie Chatterji.
