How to Set Up Social Media Content Scheduling Automation

Managing a consistent social media presence can be challenging. With this automation, you can draft social media content, get approval for it, schedule it (using the social media management platform, Buffer), and then confirm publication,  effortlessly. 

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up his workflow using Zapier.

Step 1: Set up your Zap ⚡

Create a new Zap: Click on the "Create Zap" button

Step 2: Draft your content in Google Sheets 

In the Zap editor, search for and select Google Sheets as the trigger app

Select “New Spreadsheet Row” as the trigger event.

Connect your Google Sheets account, then choose the spreadsheet and worksheet where you have drafted your content.

Test the trigger: Make sure Zapier is pulling in data from Google Sheets.

Step 3: Review and Approve in Slack

In the Zap editor, search for and select "Slack" as the action app.

In the event field, select 'Send Channel Message' as the action event.

Connect your Slack account to Zapier.

Customize Action:

Choose the channel where the review and approval will happen.

Write a message to include content details from the Google Sheet.

Test the action: Make sure the message is sending correctly.

Step 4: Schedule Post in Buffer

In the Zap editor, add another action and choose Buffer as the action app

In the event field, select 'Add to Queue' as the action event and connect your Buffer account.

Customize Action:

Map the content details to the corresponding fields in Buffer.

Select the social media account where the post should be scheduled.

Test the action: Make sure the posts are scheduled accurately.

Step 5: Post Confirmation Email

In the Zap editor, add another action and choose Email by Zapier as the action app.

In the event field, select 'Send Outbound Email' as the action event.

Customize Email:

Input the recipient’s email addresses for post confirmations.

Set up the email body to include details of the scheduled post.

Test the action: Make sure confirmation emails are sent correctly.
