French AI start-up, Mistral, has revealed several new features designed to turn its chatbot—’Le Chat’ (which means ‘the cat’, in French)---into a fully functional workplace assistant and, in the process, knock main rival, ChatGPT, off its top spot.
Among the updates include the ability for Le Chat to surf the web and deliver search results, with citations, like ChatGPT can.
It also has a new ChatGPT-like design feature—powered by AI image generator, Black Forest Labs—that enables users to create, edit, preview, and transform a plethora of content, including web pages, data visualizations, and PowerPoint presentations via text and voice commands.
Le Chat can now analyze and summarize complex PDFs, large images, graphs, and equations, and provide key insights….just like ChatGPT.
But one update that doesn’t mirror ChatGPT is its ability to automate repetitive workflows, such as invoice processing or reporting, enabling it to complete multi-step tasks, autonomously, on behalf of users.
Although ChatGPT can’t currently do this, it is rumored to be on the horizon.
