Our Report: Jeff Bezos, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and other tech companies, are investing in Figure AI, a start-up that creates human-like robots that can complete diverse tasks, from warehouse operations to retail functions.
🔑 Key Points:
Figure AI—who has previously been backed by OpenAI and Microsoft—is raising approximately $675M in funding, valuing the company at $2B, pre-investment.
Bezos (through his firm Explore Investments LLC) is investing $100M, Microsoft is committing $95M, with NVIDIA and an Amazon-related fund each contributing $50M.
OpenAI—having previously considered an acquisition of the company—is injecting $5M into the venture, which is also backed by others, including Intel, LG, and Samsung.
🤨 Why you should care: Initially, Figure AI was planning to raise $500M, but thanks to Microsoft and OpenAI’s involvement, the funding round surpassed expectations, indicating a growing market confidence in humanoid robotics.

Humane (founded by ex-iPhone designer, Imran Chaudhri) has delayed the upcoming launch of its AI Pin by three months, from March to mid-April (at the earliest).
Reports of issues with the final stages of the development demonstrate Humane’s commitment to making sure the first-gen product is 100% consumer-ready.
To cushion the delay, Humane will offer its “priority access” customers three months at no cost, which also applies to anyone who buys one before March 31st.
The highly anticipated pin is positioning itself as an alternative to the smartphone and will enable its users to talk, gesture, and summon an AI assistant from a wearable pin.
✅ Last week, we released our latest GPT, the Prompt Engineer. This week, we're excited to feature three standout use cases from readers who have creatively utilized the Prompt Engineer since our introduction.
Today’s community prompt is: Crafting Engaging Blog Posts by Florian S.
"Imagine you're a productivity guru living in a smart home. Write a blog post that explores how integrating smart home devices can significantly enhance personal productivity. Your goal is to offer valuable insights that empower readers to transform their homes into productivity havens."
Meta has formed a team (called the “EU-specific Elections Operations Center”) to combat misinformation and risks related to the abuse of AI during the EU elections in June.
The team, which brings together experts from the company's intelligence, data science, engineering, research, and legal teams, will identify potential AI threats in real time.
The team’s initiatives will also allow people to disclose whether their content is AI-generated and include some possible penalties for noncompliance.
This movement comes after Meta—and 19 tech companies (including Google and Amazon)—signed a pledge to prevent AI content designed to mislead voters during elections.
Microsoft Start has added a new feature (called Weather Trends) that will give users AI-powered weather insights, based on 70 years of historical global weather data.
Using this data, users can learn how their weather contrasts with the past year, month, and day, learn about historical averages, and use visualization tools to understand and analyze data.
Microsoft is also working on a Climate Insights Engine that will utilize the Earth’s climate history and AI to notify users of impactful weather trends at their specific locations.
Companies—including Walmart, Starbucks, and Nestle—are using AI start-up (Aware) to monitor employees’ conversations on messaging platforms, like Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Aware scans employee chats for keywords that highlight discontent, bullying, and harassment allowing companies to address safety concerns and understand employee sentiment.
The tool has already analyzed up to 20B messages from over 3M employees, but data is anonymized, so employees' names are never ever revealed.
Some employees feel that this is an invasion of their privacy, while others have criticized the reliability of the AI system to detect real-time sentiment.
