Our Report: Meta is setting its sights on developing an AI model that rivals and perhaps even surpasses GPT-4 by ramping up their infrastructure and AI capabilities in pursuit of the chatbot crown.
🔑 Key Points:
Plans are in place to start training the model by early 2024, with Zuckerberg keen on allowing companies free access to create AI tools using it.
To ensure more control over its training process, Meta aims to decrease its dependency on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform and plans to bring everything in-house.
An internal team was formed earlier this year to develop a model that can closely emulate human interactions, with leaks hinting at an Instagram chatbot boasting 30 personalities.
Not so secretly, Meta has also been acquiring Nvidia H100 AI-training chips and expanding their data centers to support the development of an advanced chatbot.
🤨 Why you should care: Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Meta's vision is its emphasis on replicating genuine human interactions. While it's speculative, I can envision a future where most online exchanges are artificially crafted dialogues between humans and AI. Terrifying?
