Our Report: Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) recently launched Worldcoin—a global initiative to differentiate AI from humans through a ‘Global ID’ attained via eyeball scans.
🔑 Key Points:
Worldcoin wants to establish an "identity and financial network" with a digital ID to help users confirm their human identity online.
Since the project's inception over the last two years, Worldcoin claims to have assigned IDs to over 2M people from 120 countries.
Critics label Worldcoin's data collection as a "privacy nightmare" as Worldcoin's privacy policy permits data sharing with subcontractors and potential access by government entities.
The Worldcoin tokens, which were given as an incentive for the scans, were trading for approximately $2.30 on Binance

He stresses regulating AI to prevent biases, long-term risks, and potential misuse. Amodei advocates for rigorous AI system tests, secured supply chains, and setting standards for AI companies.
